Dr. Brendan C. Stack was a great mentor, teacher and friend of Dr. Rick and Dr. Vick Soordhar who passed away July 24, 2020. Dr. Stack's was a university-trained orthodontist who limited his practice to treating patients with TMJ Disorders, Headaches/Migraines, and Craniofacial Pain since 1965. He was a pioneer expert in the field for over 40 years of his career and Dr. Rick Soordhar and Dr. Vick Soordhar were fortunate enough to have been mentored and trained by Dr. Brendan Stack for TMJ Orthodontics, treating TMJ Disorders, and diagnosing TMJ problems such as jaw pain, jaw noises, headaches, migraines, face pain, ear pain, poor balance, dizzyness and bad bites. Dr. Stack with his vast knowledge and career span treated patients with TMJ Disorders who also had comorbid medical conditions such as Tourette's Syndrome, Cervical Dystonia, Spasmotic Torticollis, Gait Disorders, Poor Balance, Blepharospams, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis and other motor movement disorders. Great men sit on the shoulder of Giants, and Dr. Stack was our Giant.

Dr. Rick Soordhar and Dr. Vick Soordhar have been very fortunate to have been mentored and spent time in Dr. Brenden Stack's office to learn his method to treat complex TMJ Disorder patients.

Dr. Stack with his vast knowledge and career span treated patients with TMJ Disorders who also had comorbid medical conditions such as Tourette's Syndrome, Cervical Dystonia, Spasmodic Torticollis, Gait Disorders, Poor Balance, Blepharospasm, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, and other motor movement disorders.

He treated all these patients for their TMJ Disorder (jaw pain, jaw clicking, lockjaw, trouble opening the mouth), but he also noticed that their other symptoms ameliorated (got better).

DR. BRENDAN STACK'S LECTURE ON TMJ DISORDERS AND MOTOR MOVEMENT DISORDERS (TOURETTE'S, CERVICAL DYSTONIA, GAIT DISORDER, ETC)

For example, when he treated the TMJ Dysfunction for kids with Tourette's, teens with Tourette's, and adult's with Tourette's Syndrome, the vast majority of these patient's had amelioration of their facial tics, eye blinking, shoulder shrugging, mouth tics, head nodding, head tremors, eyelid tics, and even vocal tics.

DR. BRENDAN STACK'S LECTURE ON TMJ DISORDERS AND MOTOR MOVEMENT DISORDERS (TOURETTE'S, CERVICAL DYSTONIA, GAIT DISORDER, ETC)

Dr. Stack developed and refined his specialized technique over time and Dr. Rick Soordhar & Dr. Vick Soordhar were fortunate enough to learn it directly from him by spending time at his office as he treated patients and attending his lectures.

Dr. Rick and Dr. Vick Soordhar TMJ Disorder patients with other comorbid conditions have benefited from this type of treatment.

Dr. Stack's specialized treatment technique involves wearing a dental mouthpiece, ALF functional jaw orthopedics, and/or orthodontics which allows for a better relationship between the lower jaw, upper jaw, and the base of the skull; no drugs or psychotherapy is required.  Dr. Stack's believed the TMJ internal derangement (TMJ disc being out of place) was a comorbid condition of Tourette's Syndrome, Cervical Dystonia, Spasmodic Torticollis, Gait Disorder (Poor Balance, Dizzyness), Migraines/Headaches, and other Motor Movement Disorders.
